Posts: 9688 05/25/2008 6:15 PM Nobody move, I've dropped my brain!	Oh oh oh... Tonight I watched Indiana Jones... Me, B and Alex went today and may I say, even with the HUUUUUUUGE expectations I had I LOVED IT! I am giving it a perfect 10 and it follows the awesomeness of it's previous 3 movies. I think they left so much from the original movies and kept it Indy! yet they brought in so many new things as well. I think for ONCE Shia Lebouf or what's his odd name did a great job and he really fitted the role perfectly. He never stepped inn to over-play Indy but only did what he was supposed to really... Totally perfect all the way!!!! As I said PERFECT 10 icon belong to:_cuethepulse

Ciara, Jaz, and Lucey Why delay start the hangover party today!! Now the chains are finaly gone, and I pray that I can be strong. If I only knew what to do I'd be gone. It took years and years to get me here and there's no turnin back. I left Hell behind me now I need a sign to tell me where the hell I'm at. They were some of my favorites but it's been so long since I've seen 'em.....Need to borrow those from my aunt or just go out and get them. LOL me and Dad were at the store the other day and he was going to get the 3 pack but saw the holographic fronts and started arguing with himself he's going 'the others would save space....but these are just cool lookin' so I asked him which one he'd want and he paused and says 'the cool lookin ones.' so I may get those for him for Fathers day. I have missed those movies for SO long and they were on a really really good offer so I asked my friend if I could get that and I did... Spent one whole day with JUST candy and those 3 movies :D Man I just watched 10.000BC... I really didn't want to see it that much but Monday tv sux out loud so I put it on, cus I had it cus my dad wants to see it... Just watched Kate and Leopold again for..well I lost track how many times I've seen it lol. I LOVE This movie and like Ma I also love Hugh Jackman on a horse lol Proud Member of the DTMLFG. Posts: 6245 06/04/2008 2:16 PM In the area where I'm known people in fact know me extremely well.	I watched Indiana Jones 4. Wasn't all that impressed with it. It didn't live up to my expectations. After waiting for it for 20 years, it was a let down. It should have been amazing, and it wasn't. Not that it was bad or anything. But, when I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark, I was 8 years old. And I wanted to BE Indiana Jones. Yeah, it was 4 years after the movie had come out, but I watched it through a child's eyes. And Raiders of the Lost Ark is on my list of favorite movies. And I own the DVD. I saw The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade as a very young teenager. I didn't like TToD. Still don't. Don't own the DVD. Own a blank DVD of it. TLC was awesome, but I love Sean Connery. And I own the DVD. Now, watching TKotCS, I got the feeling that I was still supposed to approach this movie like the eight year old I was when I first saw Indiana Jones. Well, I'm not 8. I'm 30 years old. And it didn't have the same feeling for me. Plus, I don't watch Indiana Jones when I have the need for science fiction. I have other outlets for that. I watch Indiana Jones when I have the need for action and adventure. So, the whole "aliens taught the Mayans how to farm and irrigate, and aliens are Mayan gods" thing really didn't thrill me. It's funny. The Ark of the Covenant melting people's faces? I have no problem with that. In fact, I'm so there. Sacred stones and worshippers who rip out people's beating hearts out of their chests and plunge people into lava? OK, not a fan, but I can still suspend my disbelief. The Holy Grail giving people immortality if they stay within the confines of the temple walls? I can see that. The Mayan pyramids hide a space ship, and they worshiped the crystal skeletons and skulls of aliens? I cannot suspend my disbelief. At all. And I hated that plot. So, close your eyes to the plot and enjoy that Harrison Ford is still THE MAN, even after a 20-year hiatus and the fact that he is now 66 years old, and take it with a grain of salt, I guess. But I wasn't in love with it. And don't get me started about Shia Lebouf swinging on vines like he's freakin' Tarzan. (Although I didn't mind Shia Lebouf. He didn't put on the hat. If he did, I would have leaped through the movie screen and slapped him.) Also, what was up with Cate Blanchet's accent? So, in my opinion: People's faces melting: Good Lots of whip action: Good Search for Holy Relics: Good Search for alien artifacts: Not good. Search for hard stuff, like crystal and stones: Not so good Desert: Good Jungle: Not so good Don't get me wrong: it was a good movie. However, it would have been better if there wasn't a 20-year freakin' hiatus between parts 3 and 4 where everyone's hopes get high enough that anything less is a big letdown. On the other hand, with that amount of time, they should have come up with a script that would have knocked people's socks off. Heck, I think it would have been better if one thing had been changed: Indy not chasing after little crystal men. Or returning the missing skull to them. Or having the skull be something else but an alien skull. Although I did laugh myself silly when Indy and Mutt are on that motorcycle, and they crash through the library, slide under tables, and come to a stop. And the student calmly asks Dr. Jones a question about his assignment. And Indy calmly answers. This is the same old, same old. Nothing new happening here. This happens to Indy just about every day. I watched "How to rob a bank (and get away with it)" last night... had about 4 or 5 movies laying around that I just had... non of them I think are good, but I will take a good surprise any day. Well this movie was good. Not like super wicked good, but good. tHE main character is the main boy from Carnivale, and the cop is the cop from "everybody hates chris". The movie itself was just... it was entertaining, not record breaking or anything but worth watching if it is on tv, or might even be worth renting at some point..., Just love that smile...

Posts: 774 06/19/2008 8:14 PM So Much For Pathos!	I watched The Happening over the weekend, and I will say this: M. Knight sux! The Sixth Sense was his one hit, and he should have stopped then! Well, The Village was okay, but, eh. Nothing good happened, IMO, and not to give away too much, but the man relied too much on those suicides that we did not need. They were stupid and over the top, and by the end of the film, you were going: WTF did I just watch? Basically, nothing happens, cause you never know what happens. The Happening comes, goes, and that's it. You never know much else. Nothing is explained, at least not that I could gather. But by the end, I didn't really care. John Leguizamo's acting was great, the only character I cared about. Donnie Wahlberg's acting was sub-par, sadly, and Zooey Deschanel's acting did not excite me at all. We would have been better off without her there (IMO). In the end, I give the film about a 5, mainly cause of the first , maybe...20 minutes of the movie was worth watching (only because of John's performance in it.) After that, it goes downhill from there, for me that is. I guess I won't be watching anymore M. Knight films after this one. Course I said that after Lady in the Water, but did I learn? Nope.
