Alright, first off if you haven't seen Batman Begins and are planning on it at some point or something you may not want to read this not sure how much I'll end up giving away. Should be fine for the first bit I'll give a warning when I talk about the movies themselves.

But with the coming of the Dark Knight (which I reeeeally wanna see) Me and Ma (Dad tried but we were critiquing this time around) re-watched Batman Begins and then the orignal Batman movie today (Micheal Keaton one) which got us both thinking.

I can't decide which one is the better Batman. Bales got the martial arts kick ass thing about him and he does the voice and the whole dark thing really really well but Keatons got more of the sorrow about losing his folks the way he did (instead of the flat out anger Bale has) and has the attitude for it. They both excel at different parts of being Batman that I can never chose one for best over all. Ma always picked Keaton until she rewatched Begins and now she can't decide either. IMO it's those 2 tied for first and second, Kilmer in 3rd and Clooney in 5th (he sucked so bad there is no 4th he jumps to 5th as you can tell I don't care for him much)

Ma and I have decided that what makes these 2 the best is the passion for the role. To the other 2 it seems like just another job but there's something in the eyes of Bale and Keaton that just takes the role to a different level. Anyone else have any thoughts on that.


Now on to the movies.

I want to know just how they're going to do The Dark Knight. You can't really say 'ok this is how the Joker came to be' they showed on that in the first movie. So are they just redoing this one or are we supposed to totally ignore what went on in the first one OR I doubt it but it could be a thought, Dad brought this up, is it going to be a more of a between the first movie and whatever one was after that..Returns I believe. I don't see how since Joker fell from a helicopter but movies have done weird things before.

For Begins you had to forget everything you know about how his parents died for that one to work anyway. Because we all know the Joker killed them and was going to kill Bruce but didn't (Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?) where as in Begins its just some random guy lookin for money not to mention we had the train in Begins and no sign of it in the first.
And then you got how the got the bat signal and all that. There are inconsistancies but you can't really start a movie KNOWING that it's going to be a huge hit like that and go on to make many more and then do some that were before the first one and have the story all work out. OK well maybe Star Wars but I haven't seen all of those maybe there's some inconsistancies in that too or didn't he plan this from the beginning? I don't know either way it has me wondering about the Dark Knight.

Yes I want to see it but I don't want it to totally ignore the original or just be a remake I like the thought of keeping it going, explaining things that weren't explained. If it is going to be more of a remake I don't know if I want to see it. I have no doubt Ledger is going to make an awesome Joker but I don't think he can out do Nicholson that man didn't do much acting when he did Joker he IS Joker. Maybe it'll be like the whole Batman thing and I'll go back and forth on whos best but I doubt that. Either way I'm curious how its going to be and I know I had more to say on the whole matter and it all left me sorry.

Now that I'm just babling I'll leave it at this. Does anyone have any other thoughts on this?
