ok this dream book (I'm still working on pulling out the others there's a lot lol) says that a bear characterizes an overbearing personality or situation and bear skin alludes to emotional warmth and security. It also says to remember that one symbol wil never mean the same for everyone nor will it always mean the same for one person each time its encountered. So I will continue to look up more wanna break out Lame Deer, Black Elk and a couple of others.

Grrr I can't find Black Elk Speaks or The Sacred Pipe. I know I have them somewhere.

Anyway here's what I found in some of the other books I've got

According to the Lakota (which is Black Elks tribe so those books probably say about the same thing) Bear is the wisest of animals as far as medicine is concerned. He guards the West and represents the South (I believe one is the brown bear another grizzly).
If your dreams are of Bear, you should be studying plant life and thinking about special effects certain plants in your area can be used for in regard to the way in which they were used by early pioneers and the Native Americans.
If not pointint out an herb or root, Bear may be asking you to help all creaturs to regain their natural freedom.

Brown Bear- creative curiosity. Guard against being overly critical of others or cynical on life. Bear helps you to go within yourself and look at life and dream. Bear moves slowly with determination. Strong and always just. In the Wheel Bear appears void at of which all things come he has silver in the black that reminds us that if we reach maturity we always realize that even in the darkest void light shines if we know how to look for it. (Some of that may not have made much sense I can't read my writing lol)
You can seek help from Grizzly or Brown Bear if (I didn't write down all of them only a few from the first couple of pages) you are afraid, lack of assessment, believing others ideas of how you should be, lack of decision, lack of grounding or if you are desiring something.

In General:
Bear awakens thepower of the unconciousness. Bear teaches you to draw upon yourself. If Bear appears to you in dreams you may need to ask yourself some questions. Is your judgment off? How bout those around you? Are you not recognizing what is beneficial in your life? Are you not seeing the core of good deep in all situations? Are you being too critical of self or others? Are you wearing rose-colored glasses? Bear teaches to reach deep within and make your choices and decisions from a position of power.
Anyone with Bear totem should keep the cub in themselves alive and occasionally climb trees ifn only to get a clear perspective. Bear can reflect a need to go deep within yourself, take periods to be reclusive. Go witin yourself and give brith to 2 or 3 ideas or projects. You also have to be patient. Cubs stay up to 2 years so your projects may not come full circle until that 2 year cycle. Only bringing power out into the open and applying it will the honey of life be tasted.


There's all that. Maybe...was there a project that you were thinking about throwing out the window? Maybe that could be the cub, you don't really want to kill the project so to speak (or idea) but you thought about it. There's all kinds of things you could get from that lol. If none of it made sense I'll try to find it again and type it out word for word that may help some. Hope at least some of that is helpful
